Engineered quartz is a manmade product comprised roughly of 90 to 94 percent ground quartz, which is natural from the earth, and 6 to 10 percent binding resins, pigments and other materials. Due to this composition, engineered quartz is extremely structurally sound and dutifully resistant to scratches, and staining. Additionally, quartz exhibits consistency in designs that can range from very simple to elaborate and can come in a wide array of colors not necessarily found in nature
Advantages: Strong, durable, stain resistant, heat resistant, wide array of colors and patterns.
Awareness: While resistant to heat and staining, it has limitations and is not heat and stain proof.
